AUDITION AT THE FESTIVAL

You can audition for the masterclasses at special booths located within the festival. Each booth comes with a stand and an iPad to help you record your video.

The same audition video requirements for each masterclass apply, except that your video will be uploaded onto a special Instagram account for the Feed Your Ambition Mentorship.

TIPS FOR A GOOD AUDITION VIDEO

#1

Capture it with a good camera.

You don't have to go out and buy an SLR just for this, most smartphone cameras are good enough.

#2

Pick a well lit spot.

Natural lighting's always best but if you're auditioning with a song, you'll probably need to do it indoors, so just make sure your room gets plenty of light.

#3

Bathroom singers are welcome.

As we mentioned earlier, if you're auditioning for the entertainment masterclass, it's probably better to do it indoors to avoid having other sounds interfere with your recording.

#4

Get a good angle.

If your face gets cut off, it may affect your chances of getting into your masterclass. So make sure you frame your shot well!

#5

Make sure your video is easy to digest.

We recommend keeping the total length of your video entry (in the event that you decide to do an Instagram video carousel) within 1 – 3 minutes.

#6

Practise what you're going to say.

You don't have to be a Ted Talker, but you do need to be heard. So rehearse what you want to say, and scribble down a few points to guide you along if you need to. Don't forget to test your volume!
